How Did It Start?

How did this collective come to be? 

Well, to be honest, I wasn't sure if I would be of any help or if it was a good idea. I've been friends with Hansheng Lee since 2013, clicked and are able to have simple or deep conversations. He has always wanted to start his own business however life got in the way.

This time it was successful! Starting 2024, The Art Collective International LLC was created that includes the four studios! Exciting times but more behind the scenes work had to be done. My friend was able to do the programming, Shopify, Printify, business plans, licensing, etc. for a whole year before I joined. No one ever said starting a business is easy however it is even harder making sure it doesn't fail.

Why am I here? 

I was worried ACI wouldn't be able to last because so much goes into it including creating new products, the website work and social media aspect. Obviously, it is stressful for all four studios to create art AND trying to manage business work. I have a full time job like half of the studios which is why I wasn't sure if joining the team would be helpful. I didn't want to say, " Yes, of course I can help and do the work needed!" if I couldn't keep my word. Seeing the amount of work that required more than one person and struggling to get it done was the reason I suggested another person to help would be best.

After making that suggestion, I realized it probably isn't easy to find someone specifically a friend to assist in the company. Finally, I decided to be that person and do what I can. IF we can get this company off the ground I wouldn't need to work a job and be my own boss.

What's the goal?

To relieve some stress, provide ideas and take over work that needs to be done. I joined mainly to help with these points and social media in hopes it will allow the four studios time to create the art ACI was made for. I may not have the experience for the duties I'm taking over but I hope you all can see growth as the days, years, etc. go by. Though, I can be creative myself I prefer to stay behind the scenes. I can explain more in another blog post but wanted to start with this one! I'm sure it can be obscure for others to see how ACI works and the people behind it.
