Lee Hansheng Studios Where Story, Spirit, and Ink Converge

At Lee Hansheng Studios, art is more than an image—it’s a living memory, a protest, a dreamscape, and a mirror to the world we inhabit and imagine. Founded by Taiwanese American artist 李翰昇 (Lee Hansheng), this studio is a sanctuary for soul-led creation—melding tradition with vision, the personal with the political, and silence with resonance.

Across each collection, Hansheng invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect—with themselves, with the earth, and with the truth. Whether rooted in ancestral memory or forged in response to contemporary injustice, every brushstroke and line carries intention and weight.

Featured Collections & Ongoing Series:

🌸 Beyond the Ether: Temple Series (Ongoing) A meditative journey through imagined sacred spaces inspired by spiritual stillness, natural wonder, and cultural echoes. Each temple—whether perched above a misty lake or nestled in an eternal bloom—is a visual poem. Current pieces include Temple of Solace, Temple on the Sea, Temple of Peace, Lotus Temple, Sakura Temple, Temple of the Sky, and Temple of Silence. Upcoming pieces include Temple of Life, Temple of Death, and Temple of Renewal.

🔥 Fuck Fascism: (Ongoing) Bold, unapologetic, and urgent—this series is a visceral response to authoritarianism and oppression. Layering peaceful landscapes with striking, defiant lettering, each piece is a call to action. Words like RESIST, RISE, and FUCK FASCISM burn brightly against backdrops of natural serenity, forcing the viewer to confront the dualities of our time.

🖤 Silhouette Series: (Ongoing) An exploration of form, mystery, and emotion, the Silhouette Series blends minimalism with depth. Each piece focuses on the quiet power of body language and shape, letting light, shadow, and gesture speak louder than words. Titles like A Glance and Into the Abyss capture fleeting yet profound emotional states.

🌊 Celestial Dreamscapes: (Ongoing) Lush, dreamlike, and often cosmic—these works celebrate nature’s beauty through a surrealist lens. Think: colossal sea creatures as star makers, glowing galaxies born from ink, and starlit oceans that stretch into eternity. Pieces like Star Maker reflect Hansheng’s love for the intersection of mythology, science fiction, and nature’s mysteries.

🪷 Singular Visions & Personal Studies (Ongoing) Beyond full series, Lee Hansheng Studios also features standalone watercolor and mixed media works—ranging from botanical studies to architectural dreams and poetic abstracts. These works act as breathers between series—snapshots of internal weather or daily rituals.

🎴 Mei: Daoli / 美:道理 (Completed) Acrylic and resin on canvas, created using a technique known as 'soufflage' — a method of painting by blowing pigment onto the canvas. This style, emerging in the post-surrealist period and predating Pollock’s iconic splatter techniques, channels subconscious expression through breath and motion. This award-winning collection examines the beauty (美) and logic (道理) behind cultural expression. These works serve as both reflection and celebration of identity, philosophy, and tradition, holding space for deeper understanding and dialogue.
