Cherishing the Little Things
Hello everyone! Maizi here again!
It has already been a difficult and emotional summer. Recently, we had to say goodbye to our oldest cat after a battle with cancer. It has been nearly a month, and I am still processing the loss. While we knew he was struggling, the speed at which everything unfolded made it especially hard to prepare for.
We adopted him when he was around nine months old, and he quickly became an important part of our family. He was there when my husband and I first started dating, through three different apartments, and eventually into our first home together. I always hoped we would have a few more years with him and that he would be part of future milestones in our lives.
Now, it is the little things I miss the most. Seeing him curled up on the bed, being greeted at the door when we came home, having him settle into our laps, or keeping us company in the kitchen while we cooked. Those everyday moments are often the ones that leave the biggest impact. He brought so much comfort and companionship into our lives, and he will always be deeply missed.
Losing a loved one, whether it is a family member, friend, or pet, is never easy. Grief looks different for everyone, and healing rarely follows a straight path. If you are going through a loss of your own, I hope you remember to give yourself grace and time. While the pain may not disappear overnight, support can often be found in the people who care about us and the memories we hold close.
This experience has reminded me how important it is to appreciate the quiet moments we share with those we love. The routines that seem ordinary often become the memories we cherish most.
Thank you for reading and allowing me to share a little piece of my journey with you.
Have a good morning, day, or night everyone. Bye bye!
