Quiet Work, Big Projects, and What’s Been Taking Shape Behind the Scenes

🌙✨ LHS Studio Update

Quiet Work, Big Projects, and What’s Been Taking Shape Behind the Scenes

Lately, my creative world has been full — not loud, not rushed, but quietly expanding in all directions. I’ve been moving between mediums, sketching ideas that refuse to sit still, and spending hours on projects that are larger, deeper, and more personal than anything I’ve taken on in a while.

Over the past few months, I’ve intentionally limited my art releases so I could shift my focus to the back-end side of my work — the unglamorous but essential architecture that keeps everything running. Between rebuilding infrastructure for ACI, updating systems, developing courses, and taking on larger-scale personal projects, I needed the breathing room to create without rushing. Stepping back from constant releases has allowed me to work with more depth, more clarity, and more purpose, and it’s given me the space to take on projects that require patience, planning, and long-term vision rather than quick turnarounds.

And since I rarely stop long enough to write these updates, I wanted to take a moment to share what I’ve been working on inside Lee Hansheng Studios.

🌌 1. Larger-Scale Pieces & Returning to Slow Art

I’ve been easing back into bigger works — the kind that require long evenings, layered washes, and patience.
Some pieces are part of my ongoing series, others are entirely new chapters. All of them are stretching my hands and my imagination in ways I’ve missed.

Current focuses:

  • New pieces for the Celestial Dreamscape series, including The Meteor Eater

  • Temple series expansions, planning for Temple of Silence and winter-focused works

  • Large-format watercolor and acrylic pieces, built slowly, with intention

Working at this scale again feels like returning to my natural pace — deliberate, immersive, almost meditative.

🔥 2. The “Fuck Fascism” Series — Strength in Stillness

This series has been a grounding force for me.
Each piece pairs my atmospheric landscapes with bold lettering — messages that are sharp, clear, and unapologetic.

Upcoming pieces include:

  • “Fuck Hate”

  • Additional works responding to current events, social dynamics, and the need for collective resistance

Despite the name, the energy behind this series isn’t rage — it’s resolve, clarity, and a reminder that peace is something we protect, not something we passively receive.

📚 3. A New Book Cover Project

I’ve also been quietly working on a book cover — something that feels both exciting and deeply meaningful.

More details soon — but it’s been one of my favorite things this season.

🖋️ 4. Writing, Planning, and Creative Architecture

Outside of painting, I’ve been shaping the framework for several future projects:

  • Drafting lessons and structures for multiple upcoming courses

  • Sketching out ideas for a possible art book down the line

  • Expanding the 52 Weeks of Prompts architecture

  • Creating a Photo Reference Library built by YOU and US!

  • Working on a few personal essays for LHS that blend culture, identity, and art

There’s something grounding about organizing the intangible parts of creativity — it helps me move through everything else with more clarity.

🌿 5. Small Moments That Still Matter

Not all of my work this season has been grand. Some of it is quiet, ordinary, and essential:

  • Sketching in between tasks

  • Testing colors for the next temple piece

  • Sorting reference photos for Skool

  • Filming when the light cooperates

  • Stretching and working out my back after long hours at the desk (necessary 😂)

These small moments add up.
They’re the foundation for the bigger pieces, even when they don’t look like it.

6. Looking Ahead

As we move toward 2026, here’s what I’m planning for LHS:

  • More large-scale works

  • Completion and release of The Meteor Eater

  • Finishing a Temple Piece no guarantees which though~

  • Book cover reveal

  • Studio vlogs & process videos

  • Expanded Skool content

  • Maybe an IRL collab with a fellow Skooler~? (details to come)

  • And a few more personal surprises I’m not quite ready to share yet

This next chapter feels bigger — not louder, just more aligned.
It feels like I’m stepping into a version of my art that I’ve been reaching toward for years.

❤️ Thank You for Being Here

Creating is vulnerable.
Sharing it is even more vulnerable.
But every comment, message, and moment of quiet support keeps me moving — and I’m genuinely grateful for everyone who walks through this journey with me.

More art is coming.
More stories.
More color.
More worlds.

Until then, thank you for being part of mine.
