🌿 Studio Update 9.14.2025
This week has been a whirlwind, but in the best way possible. I’ve been carrying the momentum from recent events and letting it guide me forward, almost like catching a strong current and choosing to swim with it instead of against it. It feels good to move without hesitation, to trust the energy, and to just keep creating.
What’s shifted for me lately is how little time I have for second-guessing. Reflection for growth? Always valuable. Reflection gives us perspective, clarity, and the space to see where we’ve improved and where we want to go next. But second-guessing… that’s an entirely different beast. Second-guessing is riddled with doubt and “what-ifs” that drag you down and steal time you can never get back. I don’t have space for that anymore. There’s too much work to do, too much art to make, too many people to connect with.
I’ve also noticed that when I set aside second-guessing, I make room for flow. Ideas connect more easily, projects feel lighter, and even challenges don’t feel quite so heavy. It’s not about being reckless or ignoring reflection ~ it’s about recognizing which voice is teaching and which voice is sabotaging. One builds, the other breaks.
In the studio, this mindset has carried me through commissions, sketches for ongoing series, and the behind-the-scenes planning that never seems to end. There’s always a balance between creating and organizing, between art and admin, but this week I’ve leaned hard into creation. It’s a reminder of why I started all this in the first place: because I love to make, to explore, and to see ideas come alive in color, shape, and form.
The theme this week is simple: momentum. Keep moving. Don’t waste time in doubt. Use reflection as a tool for growth, but kick second-guessing to the curb. There’s no room for it here.
